(332) – A man should not look sharply at his brother when he turns away

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 771

Mujahid said, "It is disliked for a man to stare at his brother or let his eye follow him when he turns his back or to ask, 'Where have you come from? Where are you going?'"

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ: يُكْرَهُ أَنْ يُحِدَّ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى أَخِيهِ النَّظَرَ، أَوْ يُتْبِعَهُ بَصَرَهُ إِذَا وَلَّى، أَوْ يَسْأَلَهُ: مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتَ، وَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ؟.
