Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you call on Allah, be definite in your supplication. None of you should say, 'If You will, give it to me.' No one can force Allah."

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا دَعَوْتُمُ اللَّهَ فَاعْزِمُوا فِي الدُّعَاءِ، وَلاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ: إِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَعْطِنِي، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ مُسْتَكْرِهَ لَهُ.
