Narrated Abdullah ibn Ukaym:

The letter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was read out to us in the territory of Juhaynah when I was a young boy: Do not make use of the skin or sinew of an animal which died a natural death.

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ، قَالَ قُرِئَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِأَرْضِ جُهَيْنَةَ وَأَنَا غُلاَمٌ شَابٌّ " أَنْ لاَ تَسْتَمْتِعُوا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ بِإِهَابٍ وَلاَ عَصَبٍ " .
