The Pen
﷽
The Noble Qur'an نٓ ۚ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ ﴿١﴾ |
English - Sahih International Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,(1) |
The Noble Qur'an مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ ﴿٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.(2) |
The Noble Qur'an وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ ﴿٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.(3) |
The Noble Qur'an وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International And indeed, you are of a great moral character.(4) |
The Noble Qur'an فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ ﴿٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International So you will see and they will see(5) |
The Noble Qur'an بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ ﴿٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].(6) |
The Noble Qur'an إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ ﴿٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.(7) |
The Noble Qur'an فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then do not obey the deniers.(8) |
The Noble Qur'an وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ ﴿٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].(9) |
The Noble Qur'an وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ ﴿١٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer(10) |
The Noble Qur'an هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍ ﴿١١﴾ |
English - Sahih International [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -(11) |
The Noble Qur'an مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ ﴿١٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,(12) |
The Noble Qur'an عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ ﴿١٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.(13) |
The Noble Qur'an أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ ﴿١٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,(14) |
The Noble Qur'an إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."(15) |
The Noble Qur'an سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْخُرْطُومِ ﴿١٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International We will brand him upon the snout.(16) |
The Noble Qur'an إِنَّا بَلَوْنَٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ ﴿١٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning(17) |
The Noble Qur'an وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ ﴿١٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International Without making exception.(18) |
The Noble Qur'an فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ ﴿١٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.(19) |
The Noble Qur'an فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ ﴿٢٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International And it became as though reaped.(20) |
The Noble Qur'an فَتَنَادَوْا۟ مُصْبِحِينَ ﴿٢١﴾ |
English - Sahih International And they called one another at morning,(21) |
The Noble Qur'an أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰرِمِينَ ﴿٢٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."(22) |
The Noble Qur'an فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَتَخَٰفَتُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International So they set out, while lowering their voices,(23) |
The Noble Qur'an أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌ ﴿٢٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."(24) |
The Noble Qur'an وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَٰدِرِينَ ﴿٢٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.(25) |
The Noble Qur'an فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ ﴿٢٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;(26) |
The Noble Qur'an بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ ﴿٢٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Rather, we have been deprived."(27) |
The Noble Qur'an قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' "(28) |
The Noble Qur'an قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴿٢٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."(29) |
The Noble Qur'an فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَٰوَمُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then they approached one another, blaming each other.(30) |
The Noble Qur'an قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ ﴿٣١﴾ |
English - Sahih International They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.(31) |
The Noble Qur'an عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ ﴿٣٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."(32) |
The Noble Qur'an كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ ع ﴿٣٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.(33) |
The Noble Qur'an إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٣٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.(34) |
The Noble Qur'an أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿٣٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?(35) |
The Noble Qur'an مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?(36) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَٰبٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ ﴿٣٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or do you have a scripture in which you learn(37) |
The Noble Qur'an إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ ﴿٣٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International That indeed for you is whatever you choose?(38) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَٰنٌ عَلَيْنَا بَٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ ﴿٣٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?(39) |
The Noble Qur'an سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ ﴿٤٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.(40) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٤١﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.(41) |
The Noble Qur'an يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ﴿٤٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able,(42) |
The Noble Qur'an خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَٰلِمُونَ ﴿٤٣﴾ |
English - Sahih International Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.(43) |
The Noble Qur'an فَذَرْنِى وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٤٤﴾ |
English - Sahih International So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.(44) |
The Noble Qur'an وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ ﴿٤٥﴾ |
English - Sahih International And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.(45) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ ﴿٤٦﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?(46) |
The Noble Qur'an أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ ﴿٤٧﴾ |
English - Sahih International Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?(47) |
The Noble Qur'an فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ ﴿٤٨﴾ |
English - Sahih International Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed.(48) |
The Noble Qur'an لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ ﴿٤٩﴾ |
English - Sahih International If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.(49) |
The Noble Qur'an فَٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿٥٠﴾ |
English - Sahih International And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.(50) |
The Noble Qur'an وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌ ﴿٥١﴾ |
English - Sahih International And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."(51) |
The Noble Qur'an وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ ع ﴿٥٢﴾ |
English - Sahih International But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.(52) |
